The Greensand Trust presents Wild Birds, a group exhibition featuring three Bedfordshire-based artists inspired by their shared love of birds and the natural world. Discover work by Marisa Straccia, Mique Morichi and Eleanor Archer throughout this special exhibition.
Step into the magical world of the Bedfordshire Witchcraft Market for a special Halloween extravaganza. Browse more than 30 stalls featuring handcrafted pottery, candles, art, books, jewellery, crystals and other witchy treasures. There will also be tarot and past-life readers, spooky treats in the onsite café and five fascinating talks, covering subjects including the history of witchcraft and the magical use of crystals.

Bedford Art Society presents its Autumn Exhibition 2026, showcasing a varied selection of artwork by talented local artists. Drop in and enjoy the exhibition throughout the week.
Celebrate with a traditional bonfire, spectacular fireworks, music and family entertainment. The bonfire begins at 7.30pm, followed by fireworks at 8pm and music until 10.30pm. Advance booking required.

A fun half-term activity for children. Create a miniature autumn garden in a wooden box using flowers, leaves, stones and sticks gathered from the museum garden, plus some spooky Halloween additions.

Explore Olney’s mysterious byways after dark on Tom’s spooky guided history walk. Wear comfortable shoes and warm clothing and bring a torch or lantern. The evening finishes in the museum gardens, followed by complimentary mulled wine, mince pies, tea and coffee in the courtyard.
Stewartby Walk – you will hear about the history of this unique village and the story of the London Brick Company, whose presence shaped everyday life for generations.

Join Bedford Pipe Band for a special Remembrance Service honouring all service personnel, particularly the young men of the Highland regiments who died during a measles epidemic while training in Bedford before departing for the Front. The parade will form at approximately 10.15am, with a two-minute silence at the Cross of Sacrifice at 11am. Pipers and representatives of the Armed Forces will attend. The service takes place outdoors, so please dress warmly and wear suitable footwear. Parking at the chapel is restricted to invited guests; other visitors should use the Foster Hill Road car park.

Bedfordshire’s Secret War and Covert Connections in the Chilterns (Jean Yates). Did Bedfordshire deserve the name of ‘Spy Capital of Britain’ during WWII? We look at the Met. Office where the D-day forecast was made, the Black Propaganda operation, exiled governments in the Chilterns, fakers and forgers, a secret radio station, training codebreakers, saboteurs and resistance fighters and some crafty tricks.
Join local historian Damien Odell for an intriguing talk exploring the haunted history of Bedfordshire. Organised as part of the Friends of The Higgins’ 2026/27 programme of lectures.
A theatrical production celebrating the life of Audrey Hepburn, presented by Ampthill & District Rotary Club.
